General information

Barely four months since the second "Placeholder", here comes the third and last album (well, more like collection of demos, I guess).

It's hard to define this crazyness in terms of genre or style labels, but I'd say it's more of my usual Instrumental Synth Metal with my usual wide variety of influences both in and outside metal. If anything, maybe this time you'll find more folk, ethnic and cinematic elements and less electronic or industrial stuff. Overall I'd dare to say music is also softer and more emotional, but still some place for extreme metal elements and lots of double bass drums and blast beasts along with the pianos, harps, flutes, strings and more stuff.

Not suitable for trves, sorry! If you like variety in metal and you are not prejudgemental, however... I think you may enjoy this thing for real. Just listen without fear!

Once again, all are totally original tracks; no arrangements of other people's works and definitively no AI or anything remotely close. Instead all was done with free software programs (more specifically LMMS as DAW and Debian GNU/Linux as operative system).

This time I also toyed a bit with different ideas and techniques for the artwork. If there was not enough with mocking visual stereotypes of metal, now there's some hip hop elements on the art, even though there is absolutely no hip hop elements on the music (or maybe in the bonus tracks there's something. I dunno). Basically mimicking the graffiti style on the text, since the backgrounds used are photos taken from ruined buildings that had already lots of these.

Oh, also worth warning that this may be my latest release for a long time. I just need a rest urgently! In the meanwhile I may focus on details and extra things related to the already existing songs (like new videos or related artworks) and maybe tinkering with some old and not-so-old WIPs I keep in my shelves for years. So still some stuff expected happen in the Unknown Lands, but... not too much, I guess.

Anyways, I hope you can find 20 minutes of your precious time to listen to this piece of (pseudo)art. Thanks in advance! :)

«In the ruins of human civilization.
In a world dominated by algorithms.
Where people just follows trends.

The infamous beast is back
To put chaos in the established order.

No self-filter, no AI, no help. Just a pure heart and a passionate mind.

Welcome back to the Unknown Lands!»

All tracks composed, arranged, programmed, produced, mixed, etc by Unknown Pseudoartist (except track 1, performed by Kira the cat. Yes, not a joke) at New Bedroom Studios (the Ancient
Computer is gone, yeah) between April - July 2025.

No cats, birds, humans or any other animal kind was harmed.

Special thanks to the people from ThaSauce, a host for music compos, especially OHC and 2HTS, where most of these songs were born. Initially done the raw, short drafts in 1 or 2 hours and later developed them a bit to have a proper full structure and slightly better mix.

Still pretty much a bunch of demos, tho. Maybe someday I'll pick some of these songs and recruit a ton of talented performers to make them shine as deserved.

01 - Kira's Song (Prelude to the CATastrophe)

Style / influences: pianosolo

Believe it or not; the truth is that this track was fully performer by a cat! Anyone who lives or lived with cat/s knows how everything can be a bed for cats. And she just happens to like sitting on my tiny MIDI keyboard.

So once I had the brillant idea of trying her performance skills. I opened my DAW and recorded whatever was pressed while she was moving around. Got at least 2 takes this way and mixed them both.

It was very noisy at first because the default synth used and the long notes. I later loaded my usual piano into it, and... not that bad, actually! Still better than a lot of today mainstream music, right?

02 - Deadly CATtack

Style / influences: weird metal

The attack of the killer cat! Or just a CATattack, whatever you call it.

This tune serves fuses with the piano intro so technically this is the typical commercial friendly track everyone would put as first track. But this happening in the Unknown Lands... maybe not that commercial at all! I don't even know how to label this, honestly. Just some experimental, crazy stuff and toying with ideas for a call and response in the riffs between two different crunchy guitars.

This somewhat represents the mood of cat approaching you in the darkness to attack you when you least expect it. It's that kind of playful but chaotic and sometimes dangerous mood.

03 - Awakening the Nature's Wrath

Style / influences: tribal / cinematic metal

Nature is a wonderful place to stay in. Unfortunately, some humans are despictable creatures doing nothing but harming everything around them, including the environment and the other animal kinds cohexisting with us. If nature could talk, protest and fight back...

This tune somewhat goes into that kind of vibes with a tribal feel and intense emotions. Including some catchy melodies along with the unusual rhythms.

04 - Lost In The Mysterious Lands

Style / influences: post-rock

Did you ever get lost in totally unknown territory, far away from human civilization? I did a few times, and while the idea may sound stressful there's also some pleasure on just exploring new mysterious places.

Accompanied by harp as main protagonist along with a bunch of guitars and simple drums, we are now visiting the Mysterious Lands.

05 - Crossing the Path of the Black Cat

Style / influences: post-rock

Inspired, once again, by some of the places I find during my walks, now we go with a softer and dark but relaxing tune. Full of pianos, strings, more guitars and more bass and more drums... and also some violin and flute and organ and more stuff. Plenty of layers here.

This time I went quite out of my comfort zone, not the stuff I'd usually do. But it kinda works, I guess.

06 Towards the Temple of the Black Cat

Style / influences: alternative rock

We continue our journey along with the black cat that somewhat happens to be there in our way.

And also moving out oy my comfort zone, once again. Some people mentioned a "wild west" vibe, but the actual intention was more into other type of wild. More like wild forests. And black cats, yeah.

07 - Soul of an Ancient Bird Deity

Style / influences: ancient metal

Did you get asleep with all the smooth stuff on this album? Well, here comes some metal for you to wake up right now!

But once again moving a bit out of my comfort zone, since it's a kind of metal I'm not used to. Basically it was intended to sound like something from some ancient civilization, like metal in the old Egypt times. Lots of crunchy riffs, ethnic instruments and some simple but catchy melodies as usual.

08 - In The Endless Abyss Of Eternal Doom

Style / influences: cinematic doom metal

I heard you wanted more metal, so here you have! This time a bit more into doom and gloomy territory. Slow and dense but agressive and dark as hell itself.

I was personally not happy with the melodies on this one, but kinda satisfied with the drum programming and the simple but effective long guitar chugs. Some cinematic elements, some buried, reverbered attempts of growls and more stuff do the rest.

I hope you enjoyed the new trip in the Unknown Pseudoartist! My sincere gratitude for going this far. If you are still hungry for more, remember to download the album for a few extra bonus tracks!
